“You wear a mask for so long, you forget who you were beneath it.”
― Alan Moore, V for Vendetta
Today as I sit to write, I write about one of the most complex truth of life. It is true that we all are aware of it but as we move ahead with life, somewhere we keep making the same mistakes again and again in life and sometime we are the one who are responsible for someone else's suffering. Like when we meet someone, we often make mistakes by judging people by the way they portray themselves. But the truth is they may not be what they show to you. They may not live upto the opinion that you create about them.
There is a thin transparent smother on their personality which detach the two individual of one identity which with time get gradually moulded in them. We cannot judge anyone as it is said Devils were once Angel
Today I will share with you few stories.

will become your mess-age."- Unknown
Messed up Girl
There were two girls who had put up together. The apartment belongs to one of the girl's relative. Her name is Manasvi. She was paying a meagre room rent however her roommate was paying around 15000 as rent to her relative. Manasvi was a free bird, independent working for a Private firm, living life on her own terms, however grounded, helpful and friendly. Geeta, who was her roommate was on her own, maintaining a distance and quite calculative in her living. Manasvi felt a little left alone in due course as she went through a major break up. She would spend all night sobbing for her boyfriend with whom she had a steady relationship since 5 years. Manasvi's Boyfriend got a overseas opportunity and hence he chose career over relationship as Manasvi did not want to leave her Country. Geeta was busy in her own life and she did not really bother much as to why Manasvi was so sad. However when Geeta asked Manasvi anything she would ignore the question as she felt discomfort with Geeta's behaviour.
Then there was a situation where their maid servant wasn't well and took leave for 10 days. Geeta in rush for Office most of the time will keep the kitchen dirty after using and leave. One day Manasvi got annoyed and she got harsh with Geeta and told her that she must clean the kitchen and leave after using it. Moreover she also told her that Geeta would be the last person in the world whom she can expect to do anything for her as they indulged into a heated argument.
One day Manasvi received her credit card bills, the outstanding of it was around Rs, One lakh and she realized Aditya has used her credit card to make some purchases. For a period of 1 week she tried getting in touch with Aditya but he was unavailable. She also received a call from her relative who asked her to pay rent of another 10000 henceforth for the apartment. She was a generous spender always hence she succumbed under the financial crunches when all this crisis took a toll in her life. One day Manasvi was talking to her childhood friend Rashmi on phone and Geeta was in the next room. While Rashmi got hyper with Manasvi for her situation and felt she was silly to let Aditya take her advantage, but she also said even she cant help her as she is pursuing her further studies and paying a huge fee for her admission. Geeta eavesdropped as she felt Manasvi was not fine and she wanted to find out what is wrong. She came to Manasvi and told her that she will bear the rent while Manasvi can take care of the credit card bills and clear her dues.
This helped Manasvi to clear the credit card bills in 2 months time while rent was taken care of by Geeta. Manasvi always thought Geeta was selfish and self centred. However she realized that she is much more careful and cautious in life. She takes time to trust people and she can also be a friend in need unlike what Manasvi thought of her.
"If there is True Evil in this World, it Lies in the Heart of Mankind" |
Edward Morrison quotes
Friends are forever
Trishna was working in the a Media Organization in Mumbai. Smart, pretty and attractive. The more prettier she is the more demanding in nature, so although she feels pressurized under the societal norms she still decides to get married to someone for whom she feels the longing and she wants to even wait for that.
While working in this organization she made friend with someone who was heading the North region branch in India and they interacted during National Con calls as well as through emails as they were handling same Clients. Ekta who was heading the Delhi branch got entangled into some politics and was fired one fine day. This was a shocker to Trishna. However she always felt close to Ekta and hence she kept in touch with her on regular day to day basis. Trishna slowly became the next prey in the Company and she decided to quit. However she wanted to resign formally. So she has also put in an email to her management regarding that. As she would discuss it with Ekta, she suggests her to leave the job without any approval only if she was dissatisfied. Dissatisfied with her management's behaviour she decides to stop going to work one fine day. This ended up Trishna to suffer and get deprived of her pay she was entitled to or any official release letter. However Trishna decided not to give up and started working harder and then finally she finds a job in a good MNC firm. She would talk to Ekta and then Ekta decided to introduce Trishna to one of her oldest friend. She highly suggested of him and said Trishna could think of a long term relationship with him. Trishna will talk to him on and off and wonder why he would not reply to her or talk to her for 2 to 3 days at a stretch after expressing his liking towards her. She asked Ekta of Gautam's presence on Facebook. Ekta said he being in a highly prestigious position in his Company, it becomes hardly possible for him to social network hence he was only present on Linkedin. Gautam was in U.S and then he went to Germany. Trishna kept waiting for his call, then she decided instinctively to search for him on Facebook and on her sheer surprise she finds Gautam is happily married with 2 daughters and he was hiding the fact of him being married. She then asked Ekta about it, she denied of her knowledge about it and expressed shock. One fine day Gautam calls Trishna since she stopped communication completely and Trishna asked him about his marital status and he says Ekta was aware of it and he thought Trishna too knows and he was only looking at a casual relationship with her. Trishna with her sheer surprise disconnects the calls, closes her eyes and tear descends from her eye and falls down shattered along with her phone on the floor.
Dreams that slaughtered her Soul
I can never forget that he never looked back at me! Never looked back at me! Never did!
A girl who walked into the City of dreams with sparkle in her eyes, her dream to explore the unexplored, know the unknown. She always knew she had the spark in her eyes, the fire and the passion to achieve in life. She wanted to be a model and she believed strongly she could do it. She started working at night in call centre and during the day she would go for auditions, during weekend she would take up dance classes. She never really felt what love is, what is the true color of love but all she knew is what she wanted to achieve. Then she met someone, a tall, fair and brown eyed man who caught her attention instantly. They met eachother and started talking. Her name is Jagyashini and the Boy she met, his name was Aarav. They made friends and would talk to eachother and go for coffee and share eachother's experiences for hours. Aarav was an actor a well established actor. All of a sudden Aarav one day messages her that he is going to London for a month as he needs to meet his family. He leaves without meeting her. Jaagyashini would go to dance classes but would miss Aarav's presence, she kept wondering why Aarav left without meeting her. Aarav would talk to her through phone messaging and would say he misses her. Until Aarav left Jaagyashini did not realize how close he was to her and what he meant to her. Once in a while Aarav will video chat with her to know how she is doing and he also helped her on getting work. She finally did 2 TV Ad campaigns with his help, one ramp show and a few photo shoot following that of her own. Success made her happy. She rented a big apartment, got a pet for her named him Brownie. Although she was having a good life she would miss Aarav. One day she asked Aarav begging and pleading to come back. She waited for him almost for a year. He said he will try and come back for her after 6 months. He took a break as he needed to be with his family but now he is trying to resolve the family chores to get back to her soon. Success meant everything to Jagyashini until she met Aarav, but after she fell for him she missed him and she felt she is truly in love with him only in his absence. But the wait does not seem to be over. However Jagyashini tried to get busy with some assignments which also kept her busy travelling for next few months. Once in a while she will talk to Aarav however she always used to express her disappointment of not being able to see him. It was January 23rd night she comes back home at night around 11:30 pm really tired and she gets back to her bed without even changing. In the morning she could hear a Happy Birthday tune playing which woke her up. She was wondering who it is, then she realized that its from outside the door. As she opens it, she finds someone standing with a big bouquet of beautiful flower and covering his face. Without a second of thought she knew it was Aarav, she screamed in Joy with his name Aarav! Aarav! Aarav! Brownie comes running and barkingShe hugs Aarav tight as Aarav wishes her Happy Birthday and she cries tear of joy that promises never to stop. Aarav slowly lifts her up, take her inside and closes the door behind him. He takes her inside and loves her like it has been a moment he has too waited forever, he held her tight and never left her till next few hours. Jagyashini showered all her love on him and then kept weeping with her tears of joy. They spent the whole day together holding hand in hand and cuddling eachother moving around the city.
He touches her soul
With every touch of his
Fingertips on her words
Each star a deep sensual kiss
On the soft mouth
Of the Ethereal..- Unknown
Next few days were days of joy for her. She was keen to know of what Aarav was upto. Aarav got a movie assignment for which he had to go for shoot in Chandigarh, Amritsar then Italy. His shoot starts from february first week which made Jaagyashini sad again, As she knew that during work he doesnt meet, doesnt talk and she has to live all the time without him. Although she was happy for him, the thought of not getting to meet him scared her so much that her next few days were sleepless. Although Aarav understood and comforted her saying that he is going to be by her side all the time, but nothing comforted her as the fear of that last one year that Jagyashini had to spent without seeing him was terrifying for her. She hoped and died a thousand death inside fearing that time should never repeat. But finally on february 2nd that day comes to her. Sad and devastated although showing pride confidence and faith externally she lets Aarav go gives him a warm kiss and waves good bye. After Aarav left he made it a point to talk to Jagyashini as many time he can in a day. They were always connected as he too feared of her coping with loneliness. One month passed away and Jaagyashini asked him about seeing her. He wanted her to wait. As the shoot is keeping him busy all the time and he was out of station. Jaagyashini showed willingness to go herself to meet him. But it was against Aarav's principal that stopped her to do any personal interaction or meeting during work so he strictly instructed her not to show up during his shoot.
The little girl inside her
Lays awake every night
Waiting for him to hold her hand
& take her back
To when all it took was
A wish & a star- Unknown
Jaagyashini all alone trying to cope with her loneliness went into depression. She stopped taking up assignments, she stopped meeting anyone and Aarav's phone calls also reduced. She would hope all the time he would call her and if someone else does she would never pick up. She would refuse to meet even her friends. Again around 6 months passed away with his shoot and Jaagyashini felt being abandoned by Aarav. As if Aarav will not talk to her when she will try calling him. Their talks reduced from every hour to once a day to fortnight to weeks and then one day it finally stopped and Jagyashini's fear turned into reality. Jagyashini succumbed into immense pain, lost in sadness, she would scream and cry but there is no one to hear her in the empty house except Brownie, she would take no phone calls, talk to no one trying to cope up with her heartbreak. Aarav's phone switched off seemed like he did not care about her any more.
"Meet me where fragile shades of past dreams come
alive. Meet me where hope never dies. Meet me in
the arms of forever. I will wait for you."
Jagyashini went to bathroom to freshen up but she was feeling sleepy so she fell asleep on the bathroom floor not caring if it is an appropriate place to do so, it was 3 am in the morning. She saw Aarav standing right in front of her in a cool blue shirt looking divine as always, Jagyashini could not take her eyes off him and she couldn't stop blushing and could not take her amused eyes off him thinking he is looking amazing, attractive as ever. Slowly, slowly Aarav walks towards her, there was magnet in between, she got drawn towards him more and more, the whole world around her became foggy. She couldnt see anything but only Aarav. Aarav slowly took her in his arms and to her surprise he started shaking her as if he is trying to wake her up from sleep. She opened her eyes and saw she was alone lying down on the bathroom floor but she could hear someone beating the door from outside really hard, Brownie was lying down by her side. She picked up Brownie in her hands and caressed him and took her to the door to open it. She saw her friend Soha standing at the door. She was worried about Jagyashini so she came to see her. Jagyashini pretended to be fine and then they sat for a coffee. As Soha opened her laptop and switched into a social networking website she saw a post which said that Aarav is engaged to his long time girl friend Nisha. Soha also showed Jagyashini their romantic post all over social network. Jagyashini was devastated, she tried to call Aarav but as it is couldn't reach him. It took her another year to slowly accept that he never loved her, the person whom she considered her true friend and more than her life and felt her life also became a curse without him was never really one. Her trust broke into several pieces, what she went through while in relationship was nothing compared to the pain she had to deal alone when she was in relationship with him. He moved on but she had to live with the pain.
This is life and this is the reality. Some people wears mask, mask may be for good or for bad but we as human being tend to trust and these are the result of trusting or not trusting the good and bad people. All I feel is it takes an eternity to understand what kind of intension the other person brings along in your life. It may change your life drastically, sometime it makes us a happier person to confront people and sometime it damages us emotionally. It is best to take time to create attachments in life, handle your emotions wisely. Take time to judge someone or take time to even fall for someone. It is for anyone but it is for your own happiness and well-being.
P.S- My writing will be always a dedication to Former Miss. Universe and Talented Actress Sushmita Sen for her motivation. Thank you Mam for the inspiration!
